Mandatory Blood Tests Ordered For Marriage In Pakistan
‘‘Medical tests were necessary to help reduce birth of disabled babies. New requirements include, would be couple’s medical check-ups, their pictures, parents’ signature as witnesses, writing date of birth of the groom in place of age and etc.,’’ according to a report in The News daily.
According to another report in the Daily Times newspaper, the government has made it compulsory for brides and grooms to provide a blood test report declaring both partners are free of any disease such as HIV and Hepatitis.
